Saturday

We presented the options to Dad this afternoon: 1. Radiation and continue the fight but without the opportunity to rehab or get much more left mobility and have the possibility of not feeling so well 2. Continue rehab and feel better and possibly live a lesser time. All tough options. The family will be content in what ever Dad decides. This has been a lot for Dad to absorb this afternoon so he asked if he could go back to bed to think about it and rest. Please pray that Dad can process this and make the correct decision for him. My comments to Dad were " Pray to God and ask him for wisdom to make the right decision. Boy what a tough few days for Mom, Dad and the family. Dad would like both Radiation and rehab but that will not be a possibility. Thnnks again for all your thoughts, prayers, comments, cards etc.

Gods plan is perfect.

Dear Tim and family,

I came across your Blog today quite by accident. I clicked the button "next blog" while editing mine and came to yours.

I am a Christian, a believer in Jesus as the Son of God sent to us to redeem us through the shedding of His blood. I believe in the power of prayer. Imagine how strongly your calls for prayer stood out amongst the words typed in your post.

I read your Blog, and my heart wept. I haven't experienced anything like what your family is going through, and your father's courage, faith and strength have shown me what Peace with God looks like.

I will pray for your father and for all your family. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling, I live in Canada, so our health options here are very different from yours. I thank God for having me accidentaly come across your blog. Please send my love to your father, he is my brother in Christ, and he has reached a part of me that desires to have a walk with God so close that even in times of hardship and unmeasurable difficulties, I can be at Peace and thankful. His witness and your testimony of it has touched me.

God Bless you all,

Karen in Canada

Dear Tim and Family. My name is Tammi Van Huis, I worked with your dad at Pfizer for years. I have been reading this blog ever since its been up and running every day. I lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago and Mel came in for a visit and gave me such great support. Mel is strong, he is a fighter and I have been so proud of him these past few weeks. And now to hear of such a decision to be made. My heart breaks, I have been where you are and I know its not easy for any one of you, including Mel. I to believe in the power of prayer. I will pray for mel and for your family. As my dad always said to us, "Praise him, even in the worst of times".
Please let Mel know that I wrote and I will be thinking and praying for you all.
